Global Education Programme

Connecting Worlds, Connecting Minds

The Global Education Programme (GEP) is an initiative that seeks to create opportunities for ITE students to gain a worldview on education as well as develop self-confidence and independence to thrive in the global economy. Through its many different programmes, it works to expose students to different cultures, environments and activities – an integral part of holistic education.

Overseas Student Exchange Programme (OSEP)
This Programme seeks to place students in different cultural situations, where they can develop their communication skills and gain valuable international experience by engaging in dialogues with overseas students. Students worked on special projects with their counterparts including those from Australia, Hong Kong, Germany and Canada, with the purpose of enhancing their knowledge base especially in the areas of engineering and health sciences.
Overseas Industry Attachment Programme (OIAP)
In the demanding global economy, this Programme prepares students to meet challenges by allowing them to get hands on experience with relevant overseas industries. They gain valuable understanding of industry trends and the latest technology and adapt to different working environments overseas. Venturing into Malaysia and China, students were exposed to industries that span communications, electronics, mechatronics, technology and medical services.
Overseas Community Service Programme (OCSP)
Passion for community service is taken to a new level when students are asked to look beyond current situations and venture into community service projects overseas. Students have done their part within the region, from taking part in eco-tourism trips to road construction in parts of China. This Programme allows them to do their bit for communities not only in Singapore, but also beyond.
Overseas Cultural & Sports Programme (OC & SP)
Collaborating with overseas counterparts and engaging in healthy competition with overseas students allow ITE students to learn from global neighbours and gain different perspectives. It also provides opportunities for students to bond with different cultures and develop lasting friendships as students become more aware of the world around them. Some of the notable experiences include working in the kitchens of Malacca to prepare Peranakan dishes, touring different countries to take part in gaming competitions as well as rock climbing and cave explorations in neighbouring countries.
