Student Care @ Central is a professional counselling centre. Our commitment is to attend to the students' psychological, social and developmental needs. Every student is unique and we believe in empowering them to manage life's challenges and to achieve their personal goals.
The Student Care Unit works in partnership with several external agencies such as Dyslexia Association of Singapore, the Health Promotion Board, the Community Health Assessment Team and the National Addictions Management Services to provide holistic services to the students and staff of ITE.

FAQ for Students
Q1: What is counselling?A: When you feel sad or distressed and you do not know how to cope with a situation, a counsellor is here to listen to you and give you support.
Q2: How can I look for a counsellor?A: You can drop by Student Care @ Central at A3-08. Alternatively, you can call 65805156 or SMS the Student Care Number 81827371 or email us at whatsup@ite.edu.sg .
Q3: How long is a counselling session?A: It is different for every student. Generally a session is 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Q4: How often do I have to see my counsellor? How many sessions of counselling are necessary?A: After the first session, you and your counsellor will come to an agreement as to how often to meet and how many sessions. Counselling is not compulsory; you can stop whenever you want to.
Q5: Do I have to pay?A: No. Counselling services in ITE is free for all students.
Q6: Will the counsellor disclose the information I share to my parents, friends or lecturers?A: No, the information is kept confidential unless you harm yourself/ others or you are harmed by others.
Q7: Can I choose my counsellor?A: We do not encourage that as all counsellors in Student Care @ Central are professionally trained. However, if you feel more comfortable with either a male or a female counsellor, or you know of a particular counsellor, please let us know and we will find a counsellor according to your preferences.
Q8: If I see a counsellor, would there be a record or reflected on my report book?A: No. All information is strictly confidential. No one will know that you have seen a counsellor if you do not want them to.

Locker Rental
Students may apply for free usage of locker via http://ccweb.ite.edu.sg/cclocker.
The application is based on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Students are responsible for the safety and security of their belongings stored in the lockers. The College is not liable for any losses or damages for the belongings kept in the lockers.
Please note that unauthorised use of lockers is strictly forbidden. The College shall have the authority to open the lockers and dispose of all property found therein.

If you are a new student studying for the first time in ITE, you will receive your ITE ez-link card within 6 to 10 weeks after the submission of your recent photograph to Customer & Visitor Centre @ Blk A Level 2.
Note:Photograph must fulfill the following criteria:
• Taken against a white background, coloured passport size
• Hair must be neatly combed or tied up
• Image must show full face from chin to crown of the head
When submitting your photo, you need to write the following in pen on the reverse side of the photo:

Extension of ITE EZ Link card
If your ITE EZ Link card expires before you complete your training, you may go to Customer & Visitor Centre @ Blk A Level 2 or contact Ms Wendy at 65805143 to apply for extension.
Replacement of Lost EZ Link Card
You may apply for an immediate replacement at any Concession Card Replacement Office. However, a replacement fee will be imposed by Transitlink for lost EZ Link cards.
How to apply for a replacement EZ Link card?
Step 1: Call 1800-2255-663 to report loss of EZ Link card.
Step 2: Collect Annex T form from the Customer & Visitor Centre @ Blk A Level 2 and get replacement of the EZ Link Card at any of the following locations.

NEU PC Plus Programme
The NEU PC Plus Programme offers students and persons with disabilities from low income households the opportunity to own a brand new computer at an affordable price.For details, please log onto http://www.ida.gov.sg
Eligibility Criteria • Be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Has a permanent disability OR is a full-time student in ITE (aged 25 & below)
• The gross monthly household income or per capita income does not exceed $2700 or $700 ($875 if there is a permanently disabled household member) respectively
Each eligible household can only apply for one computer, regardless of the total number of school-going children and/or household members who have permanent disabilities. Past recipients of a PC bundle under the NEU PC Plus Programme may reapply only after four years from the last deployment to the household.
How to apply:
Step 1: Complete the NEU PC PLUS PROGRAMME application form. The form can be obtained from the Customer & Visitor Centre @ Blk A Level 2 or Student Services Office @ Blk A Level 3.
Step 2: Submit application form together with supporting documents to Customer & Visitor Centre @ Blk A Level 2 or your Class Advisors.
Financial Assistance (Cash)
The Financial Assistance (Cash) Scheme is introduced to provide financial assistance to full-time ITE students from the lower and middle-income groups, as part of the Government's commitment to ensure that no able students are deterred by the cost of post-secondary education due to their financial circumstances.
Eligibility Criteria• Applicant must be a subsidized Singapore citizen student pursuing a full-time Nitec, Higher Nitec or Diploma course
• Applicant's gross monthly household per capita income (PCI) ≤ $1,700
• Applicant must not concurrently hold other bursaries or scholarships1 including the CDC & CCC-ITE Bursary or CDC & CCC-ITE Scholarship.

CDC & CCC-ITE Bursary
The CDC & CCC-ITE Bursary scheme is a financial assistance scheme aimed at encouraging secondary school leavers from lower-income families to take up ITE full-time courses.

The Student Services Centre in ITE College Central aims to provide continuity of care and support for students through a range of student-related services such as financial assistance, locker rental, Ez-link card matters and more.
Collection of Certificates
If you have completed all your requirements, you will be issued your Nitec/Higher Nitec certificate at the graduation ceremony in which you are presented on stage.
Graduands who are unable to attend the graduation ceremony can collect their certificates at ITE College Central Ang Mo Kio campus from 6 Mar 2013 onwards (i.e. graduation class of December 2012).
Do note that the collection of the certificates is only allowed after all outstanding fees/fines/loans have been paid.
You will need to produce your Identification Card for collection of your certificates.
Graduation Attire
All graduands, who are attending the Graduation Ceremony, are required to wear the ITE Graduation Attire.
The ITE Graduation Attire consists of a black gown and a coloured sash.

Dress Code
As the Graduation ceremony is a dignified occasion, graduands are requested to dress appropriately for the occasion. Graduands found to be improperly dressed will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony.
Please note that slippers and sandals are not allowed in the Graduation Ceremony.

Instructions to Graduates (On the Day of the Ceremony)
General
If you have indicated your intention to attend the Graduation ceremony, the following instructions will be helpful as you prepare for the occasion. Wherever applicable, please advise your guests accordingly.
Please check the Schedule of Ceremonies to find out the date/time of the ceremony for the presentation of your certificate.

Graduate Attendance Card and Parent/Guest Invitation Cards
The package (one Graduate Attendance Card and two Parent/Guest Invitation Cards) will be given to you at the Registration Counter when you come for your graduation ceremony. Please approach the staff outside the Auditorium so that they can direct you to the specific booth for collecting the package.
The Graduate Attendance Card and Parents/Guests Invitation Cards are essential as entry passes to the Graduation celebrations.
Parents/Guests without Invitation Cards will not be admitted to the ceremony.
The Attendance Card is important as it has a barcode which keeps your name and awards (if any) and is required when you are presented on stage.
Graduate Robing
All graduates attending the ceremonies will have to wear their graduation attire. After registration, you can put on your graduation attire at the robing room (Function Room) before proceeding to the Auditorium where the ceremony will be held.
Seating Time
Seating time for graduates and guests will commence one hour prior to the official start time of each ceremony. Before the start of the ceremony proper, video-clips specially prepared by the Schools will be screened.
To ensure that we are able to start the ceremony on time, graduates and guests are requested to be seated 30 minutes before the ceremony start time.

What graduates should do during the ceremony
After you have finished putting on your graduation attire, please proceed to the Auditorium. All graduates should be seated at least 30 minutes before the ceremony start time. At the entrance, the ushers will check your Attendance Card and show you to the seat.
The Graduate Attendance Card is required for the Ceremony Official to read out your name (and prizes, if any) when you are presented on stage. Thus, please hold the Attendance Card in your hand or put it inside the pocket of your graduation attire.
When the ceremony begins, please stand up to welcome the academic procession.
When it is time for your graduating cohort to be presented on stage, the ushers will lead you up the stage. Please remember to hold the Attendance Card in your hand and give it to the marshall manning the barcode reader. As the names of the graduates will be read out in the sequence that the Attendance Cards are scanned, please do not change position with your fellow graduates after you have given the Attendance Card to the marshall.
Towards the end of the each ceremony, the valedictorian will deliver a speech. The academic procession will first leave the Auditorium. Please follow the instructions of the ushers to leave after the academic procession.
The original Nitec/Higher Nitec certificates will be given at the ceremony.
Reception after the Ceremony
All graduates and guests are invited to a reception immediately after each ceremony.
To better serve your needs, some vendors will be invited to set up booths outside the Auditorium during the Graduation period. It is hoped that you will find the services and products offered by the vendors useful. However, you are under no obligation to entertain their requests.
Do come and mingle with friends, faculty and staff.

Now you can embark on a successful career by enrolling in the post-secondary ITE courses. With a wide range of Applied & Health Sciences, Business & Services, Design & Media, Hospitality, Electronics & Info-Comm Technology and Engineering courses to choose from, you can be certain of finding one that's right for you. ITE conducts full-time courses which lead to certification at the Nitec and Higher Nitec levels. The number of courses offered under each level of certification together with the general entry requirements are listed below:
The offer of an ITE course to applicants is subject to them being physically, medically and mentally fit to pursue the course. This is to ensure that all students can benefit from ITE training in a safe and conducive environment. Applicants or students assessed by ITE as being unfit can be withdrawn from the course. Where appropriate, they may be considered for other courses if there are suitable ones. Applicants with specific disabilities are strongly encouraged to seek prior academic course advising from the respective College(s) before selecting their choice of application. Dual Certification Course for Higher Nitec in Paramedic & Emergency Care and Nitec in Nursing
Application for admission to the 3-year and 3-month dual certificate course for Higher Nitec in Paramedic & Emergency Care and Nitec in Nursing is ONLY conducted through the Special Admissions Exercise (SAE) administered by ITE College East for those who possess a passion for wanting to save lives and strong interpersonal, critical thinking and decision making skills. Applicants who are interested to apply for the course must ensure that they are free from colour appreciation deficiency and may check directly with ITE College East for more information. Shortlisted candidates have to attend and pass an interview. Due to the special requirements of the healthcare profession and in the delivery of direct patient care, all applicants have to pass a pre-admission medical examination and be free from physical and mental handicap to ensure suitability. Whilst not comprehensive, the following medical conditions will lead to non-acceptance into the course:

Higher Nitec in Filmmaking (Cinematography)
Application for admission to the Higher Nitec in Filmmaking (Cinematography) course is ONLY conducted through the Special Admissions Exercise (SAE) administered by ITE College Central for those who possess a passion for and strong interest in behind-the-scene Filmmaking (Cinematography) works. Applicants who are interested to apply for the course must ensure that they are free from colour appreciation deficiency and may check directly with ITE College Central for more information. As lifting of heavy equipment is an essential and integral part of the training and assessment requirements, applicants are advised that they should be physically fit to undergo the rigors of the training. Shortlisted candidates are required to attend an interview.

Higher Nitec in Performance Production
Application for admission to the Higher Nitec in Performance Production course is ONLY conducted through the Special Admissions Exercise (SAE) administered by ITE College Central for those who possess a passion for and strong interest in stage management and technical theatre. Applicants who are interested to apply for the course must ensure that they are free from colour appreciation deficiency, hearing deficiency and acrophobia (fear of height) and may check directly with ITE College Central for more information. Shortlisted applicants have to attend and pass an interview.

Higher Nitec in Beauty & Spa Management
Besides the JAE, ITE College East also conducts a Special Admissions Exercise (SAE) for those who possess a good service mindset, pleasant disposition and good skin complexion and enjoy working in the beauty and spa industry to apply for Higher Nitec in Beauty & Spa Management. Applicants who are interested to apply for the course may check directly with ITE College East for more information. Shortlisted candidates under SAE are required to attend an interview before the final selection. All applicants also have to pass a pre-admission medical examination.
Interested applicants are to apply personally at ITE College East.
Besides the JAE, ITE College East and ITE College West also conducts a Special Admissions Exercise (SAE) for those who possess a strong sports background and healthy lifestyle mindset to apply for Higher Nitec in Business Studies (Sport Management). ITE SPECIAL COLLEGE ADMISSIONS SCHEME
The ITE Special College Admissions Scheme (SCAS) provides flexibility for ITE Colleges (ITE College Central, ITE College East and ITE College West) to consider students with special talents and achievements, for direct admission into ITE full-time Higher Nitec and Nitec courses. This will provide applicants under SCAS, the advantage of admission into an ITE College and course of their choice. The scheme will be open for application for admission to courses for year 2014 intakes.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Students with special talents and achievements in the following areas may apply for admission into ITE full-time Higher Nitec and Nitec courses under SCAS:
To ensure that students admitted through SCAS will be able to cope with the ITE courses, they are expected to meet the minimum entry requirements (where applicable) of their respective Higher Nitec and Nitec courses based on their GCE ‘N’ or ‘O’ level results. Successful applicants are also expected to pass the colour vision test and/or medical check for admission into selected courses. For students who are offered a place via their non-academic achievement in the areas of Sports, Performing & Visual Arts and Leadership, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, they will be required to contribute in the same CCA or similar CCA offered at their ITE College of study during their 2 years ITE Course. SCHEDULE The key dates for SCAS are as follows:
APPLICATION
Application is open to final-year secondary school students from the Normal (Technical), Normal (Academic) and ‘O’ level streams, as well as past-year secondary school leavers. Applicants are advised to submit their online application by 26 July 2013, to be considered for admission into the following year's intakes.
Current ITE students are not eligible for this scheme. Students can apply up to a maximum of 3 choices of courses online. Each ITE College will notify short-listed applicants on the interview dates.
In selecting the students, ITE Colleges will take into account, their suitability and motivation for admission to the course applied for, based on their CCA records, personal portfolio of achievements and performance at interview.
Final-year secondary school students without their GCE ‘N’ or ‘O’ level examination results, and who are selected, will be given a conditional offer of a place in ITE. Confirmation of admission will be based on students meeting the minimum entry requirements (where applicable) for the selected courses, when the final GCE ‘N’ or ‘O’ level examination results are released. On-going ITE students who wish to seek course transfer to another ITE course are to approach their Class Advisor or Section Head to apply for the transfer and not to submit their application in the intake exercise.
ITE GRADUATES
If you have graduated from a full-time Higher Nitec course at ITE and wish to return to do a second full-time Higher Nitec course, you may apply for admission one year after graduation. For April 2013 intake, you may submit your admission application if you have graduated before 1 May 2012.
If you have graduated from a full-time Nitec course at ITE and wish to return to do a second full-time Nitec course, you may apply for admission one year after graduation. For January 2013 intake, you may submit your admission application if you have graduated before 1 February 2012. For April 2013 intake, you may submit your admission application if you have graduated before 1 May 2012.
NS DEFERMENT
National Service (NS) liable males who wish to pursue full-time ITE courses in 2013 and were born in the year 1993 or earlier (for Secondary 4 Express and Sec 4 Normal Stream students) or born in the year 1992 or earlier (for Secondary 5 Normal Stream students and ITE Graduates seeking progression to Higher Nitec courses) will have to check their eligibility for NS Deferment at the Central Manpower Base (CMPB). Only those who are eligible for NS deferment will be allowed to enroll in the course.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
ITE will not be admitting International Students with foreign qualifications or private qualifications to its full-time courses.
